The foot, as the foundation of the human body, bears the vast majority of the body’s weight. Obese children bear more weight than healthy children in the process of walking and running. This study compared three footwear midsole structures (solid, lattice, and chiral) based on plantar pressure distribution and bone stress in obese and healthy children through numerical simulation.

A five-layer weft-knit with a spacer structure is proposed as a capacitive sensor. The two cotton yarn outer layers provide insulation. The two inner layers that form the parallel electrode plates are separated by using a compressible spacer layer.

Sustainability is one of the main concerns in the textile industry. To address this issue, three-dimensional spacer fabric bra cups are developed by using fully fashioned knitting to reduce the production of waste. Five bra cups with different types of surface yarn and shapes are proposed.

To investigate the effect of contoured insoles constructed of different insole materials, including Nora Lunalastik EVA, Nora Lunalight A fresh, Pe-Lite, and PORON Medical 4708 with Langer Biomechanics longitudinal PPT arch pads on offloading plantar pressure on the foot of the elderly with Type 1 or 2 diabetes during gait.
